Whooo! Field Trip!!

Delfos Danza Contempovanea

Our field trip was this, an amazing performance with dancers and unique forms of creative art. Just watching it reminded me of a music box, from the music choices to the display of the stage using video effects and lighting. We may not have been able to take pictures of the actual performers performing, but we do have some pictures of some very interesting peices of art work they had on for visitors to admire.
Art
Here are some wood carvings and a wrestling mask painted and/or designed.

Paintings like the bald eagle were shown hung up around the gallery to show the creativity that was put into each peice.
Clay pottery of bowls, plates painted nicely, and the music of maracas galore. :)
 Paper Mache
It's kind of hard to see, but this is the stage of the performance and the last picture that was able to be taken before it started.

The one's facing us are the performers.

Chandler's Project

Creativity at Arcadia
This is Chandler, a new student to our school. Just showing how creavtive people can be, Chandler has created a 'Deadmou5 head' for Halloween and school credit. With days and hours off effort, he was able to start from many different pieces of useful things and scrap to creating a work of art.

Stop Bullying!

We are Anti-Bullies!

 Stop bullying convention day!
Our school shows its support to those who want or need bullying to stop. Know people care.

Our support was to wear orange to show our hatred towards bullies.
Just remember, everyone has feelings and words can hurt just as much as taking a hit. Friends will always be there for you and help stop the pain.
Teachers and family are also always there for you, so if you are being bullied, please get help, and if you are the bully, just STOP!

Fun at Arcadia!

Meeting the National Guard

Having the National Guard come visit a school for rock climbing, racing, and training doesn't happen often, but knowing Arcadia school, it was bound to happen.
Rock climbing in the school parking lot was so awesome for all students and teachers to participate in.
For about the whole afternoon, if you had no classes, this would be something people would like to do.

Climbing the wall was scary if your affraid of heights, but on the bright side, extremely safe.

The school you never want to leave.

If we were able to make it through 3 to 5 minutes of wunning, push ups, crunches, and a few more things, we were able to feel pride in ourselves, and get a free t-shirt.
We are one school where the victory is ours!
 Our math teacher, Go Lindsey!
 Setting up,
and slidding down :)

Presentation Night

Welcome to Presentation Night!

Here are some of our middle schoolers presenting what they need to learn or wanted to learn more about.
The topics carry from History, life of something else and well-known people to candy, beverages, and all that travels around that.
Here at our charter school, anyone is allowed to present something we learned or created, high school or middle school.
In middle school the projects always have a topic to follow. Examples would be, a place, a journey, an idea, and more. In high school, the projects are what ever you want it to be about (keep in mind this is still school, so try and keep it school appropriate and school related.)

We always have a total of 4 presentation nights each year of school. Its loads of fun and interesting.
For those who have never been to Presentation night before, let us tell you, its pretty amazing!

Hallows Eve Party

Halloween :)

Who says you can't have fun at school? Here at Arcadia, it impossible not to. Welcome to our student decorated Halloween Party, host by yours truely, Shelby and Emily W, Helpers: Chandler, Wendy, Karley, Emily H, and Gabby.

Decorating took hours of work and effort, but it was all worth it in the end.
Wendy had contacted friends of her family's to help us with setting up a 'Spooky Maze'. Some participants brought scary costumes and masks to where and hide in this room while the kids would walk through unknowingly, that there were 'monsters' ready to jump out and startle them.
Wendy and her friends that helped set up the maze and participate in the fun.
We also set up the art room at the school so that the kids could join in some arts and crafts, adding lights other props to add to the Halloween theme. The children were able to sit at a table and color pictures that we had printed out.

It was never before seen amazment that went on with the party and the people.

Many different games and activities such as haunted maze, kick ball, hoola hoop contest, bingo, pillowcase races, coloring, and winning all sorts of CANDY!!!

New Staff!

New Teacher at Arcadia

This is Gary. Gary is a nice guy. He works at our school, Arcadia Charter. Gary is a pretty mysterious person joining our staff becoming a member to help we students to be able to be sucessful as we travel on our journey through life. We don't know much about Gary at the moment but we're sure he is just as crazy and funny as the rest of the teachers.

New Staff!

Our New Science Teacher!

This is Dan Peace our new science teacher here at Arcadia.  He's fun to have, plays tough, and fits in perfectly with the rest of our school.   His life before Arcadia is mostly a mystery to us but rumor has it that before he became an expert chemistry/physics/ middle school science teacher/advisor he was a professional photographer!  What a man! Like most of the staff here he came to teaching through an unconventional route.  We like that.  Welcome to Arcadia, Mr. Peace (that'll probably be the last time I call him Mr. Peace).
